The College was founded under the name of Bicton Farm Institute in 1947, when Devon County Council leased Bicton House and part of the Bicton Park estate from Lord Clinton. The name was changed in 1967 to Bicton College of Agriculture and in 2002 to Bicton College. As of 2007/2008 Bicton College was recognised as a Centre of Excellence in Teacher Training for its training of teachers in the Post Compulsory (Post 16) sector.
We have a huge role to play in the community as well as working closely with businesses to help people make a positive contribution to the region. Whether you are a young person; looking for a new challenge; training at work, or seeking higher qualifications for better job prospects, Bicton College can help open the door to an exciting career. You can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome, whatever your age, background, circumstances and interests. I hope you enjoy your time with us. David Henley Principal and Chief Executive
