Stage Combat Training and Living History

Squire Theatre is an innovative company based in the south west offering a range of services based around stage combat to primary, secondary and sixth form students as well as youth clubs, societies, theatre companies and holiday schemes. 

Primary:

Squire offers both key stage 1 and key stage 2 living history experiences for primary schools focusing on the weapons and armour of the Anglo Saxon and Viking period. Learn about the battle tactics and culture of the Saxons through games and activities.

Secondary:

Squire offers industry standard stage combat training to secondary students with a focus on linking curriculum texts from English and Drama to the training. Approach Shakespeare in a new and exciting way and learn useful performance skills that can be used in school plays and student drama projects.

Sixth Form:

With drama schools and UCAS becoming ever more demanding industry experience and unique skills are becoming more and more important. Drama students can not only learn a range of useful stage combat techniques but also ask questions and gain a real world insight into the performance industry from working fight and stunt performers.

Youth Projects and Holiday Schemes:

Stage combat is a safe, fun and inclusive group activity requiring no specialist equipment or previous training. At some point we've all wanted to be swashbuckler like Errol Flynn or a Hollywood action hero and now's your chance. Squire offers workshops on fights, filming, blood effects and more all to spark the imagination and provide a really memorable experience.
