Kite festival on the River Exe

The newly updated invaluable guide for all visitors to the Exe Estuary, the Exe Explorer, is now available.

The revamped free guide is packed with information about where to walk or cycle, including all the latest routes around the Estuary such as the recently opened Lympstone to Exton cycle trail. All of the paths are shown on a large colour coded map which can be used to plan walking and cycling routes which take in amazing views of the Estuary.

It also includes details of all forms of available transport, such as ferry, train and bus routes as well as accessibility guidance for wheelchair and pushchair users. In addition there is also information about the location of RSPB reserves, toilets, refreshments, local pubs and cafes, parking, cycle hire and bus stops.

The leaflet also provides key information about the estuary with some interesting facts you may not know about this lively and vibrant site.

To get your free copy of the Exe Explorer guide or others including Exe Wildlife and Exe Activities, call in to your local Tourist Information Centre or log on to the Exe Estuary website at www.exe-estuary.org.uk.

The guides will also be available to collect from the Exe Estuary Festival on Saturday 10th July at Dawlish Warren from 11am. A free family event to celebrate the Exe Estuary.

The free family event to celebrate the Exe Estuary promises to be a great day out with live music from the Quails, junk band workshops, creative activities for all ages, Mad Science, stalls from local businesses and organisations, face painting and stilt walkers.

For more information, and to get your free copy of the Exe Explorer guide, please contact the Estuary Officer on 01392 382236.
