Children and families are invited to explore the woods and have fun for free at Exeter City Council's big Playday in the Forest, at Haldon Forest Park on Wednesday 28 October from 11am to 3pm. The exciting woodland activities range from den building and fire lighting, to cycle trails and forest activity walks. Children can print with leaves and twigs, create a lantern to take home, and take part in the wildlife quiz trail. Everyone can join in with the Big Beat Junk Band to send some serious noise through the trees! And it's all free! Plus there will be face painters, food stalls and lots more. Transport is available from Exeter (£1 return fare for adults and children). For more information please call Paul Dugard on 01392 265872. The event is also supported by Stagecoach South West, and a free bus service will run from Exeter Bus Station, leaving at 11.30am and 1pm. This event is organised by the City Council's Play Development Team, and is part of a year round programme of play events and activities for children in Exeter. For more details about Playday in the Forest, or other play events in Exeter, visit www.exeter.gov.uk/play or call Helen Lisk on 01392 265816. Exeter City Council Media Release 21 October 2009
