Sponsored by The Co-operative Group
Devon Wildlife Trust would like to invite representatives from your group to attend a workshop on 29 March 10-5pm at the Ockment Centre, Okehampton.
Find out about other climate change action groups, and what they do
1 Explore how we can help each other and maximise our impact 2 Hear about how Devon Wildlife Trust is taking action to help wildlife face up to climate change 3 Attend break-out sessions of your choice, tailored to your need. Topics identified through a Friends of the Earth Survey of climate change groups, and from detailed telephone interviews of a cross-section of these groups. They will include:
· Fundraising
1 Media and general marketing - with Jo Cole of Westcountry Television 2 Campaigning - with Richard White who recently Devon Wildlife Trust's Lyme Bay Reefs campaign in response to a Government Consultation
3 Running a successful group - setting up, PR, keeping your energy going - with Bovey Climate Action
· Free lunch, locally sourced!
Funded by the Co-operative, this workshop is part of a region-wide initiative to help the growing number of volunteers and community groups taking action on climate change in the South West become more effective and achieve greater impact, by developing a long term system of mutual support both within each county and between counties. Similar workshops are being held in every county in the southwest, co-ordinated by the South West Wildlife Trusts.
Please feel free to forward the invitation and booking form to other organisations working on the climate change agenda.
