Recent statements from Google employees have suggested that they will will penalising websites for buying or selling paid links.  However, none of the directory services provided by Stairway to Devon are paid links.  Membership is free, and basic directory listings (including website links and a full details page) are free.

Extra features can be purchased for display within the directory and the rest of our website, including: 

• Uploading of icons and logos to draw attention to your directory listings
• Entering your latitude and longitude to provide an accurate map for your details page
• Uploading of images and addition of a gallery to your listing
• Uploading of images and messages to be set up as E-Cards
• Uploading of images for display in our 'Featured Artist' / 'Featured Image' spot
• Coming soon: Banner advertising.
  

Please note that to comply with Google's recent directive on paid advertising, we will be adding 'nofollow' link attributes to our banners, e-card links and featured image links.

• Events calendar, available for members to announce their events to the public
• News page, available for members to publish news and press releases
  
• Special book listings for Devon authors. Any local bookshop that lists a book here is welcome to include links to their own website and an advert of up to 450 pixels in width.
