It is important to me (as well as being the law) to make this website accessible to everyone, and I know I still have some way to go with it. One problem is that Javascript is used extensively in many of the basic components that were used to make this website. I have been working to make the site more accessible to users who cannot use Javascript. This is my progress so far in ensuring that they can still use the website.
What works?1) Logging in and out works without Javascript 10) News feeds work 15) E-cards can now be sent and received without Javascript 16) Contact form - the 'Send' button on the email form won't work without Javascript, but I've added a message, an email link, and enough alternative contact information. 17) The original form for Adding News, with word processing features etc, does not work without Javascript. An accessible form for entering plain text and uploading images has been created instead, with the advanced options available as an alternative.
What's left?1) Interactive Maps do not appear without Javascript. I will add an alternative static image of the map. So it will not be interactive, but it will show the right place. 2) Downloads - the Download button in the Downloads section does not work without Javascript, but flag images may be downloaded from the flags page by right-clicking or by saving the page as a complete web page. 4) Map coordinates - I will provide a link to alternative content.
