Save a Beach in Devon Save Your Beach and Win a Trip to CancunSubmit your Devon beach for a free clean up!
The Corona Save the Beach campaign is recovering beaches across Europe and offering a trip for two to Cancun in the process! (I know, it's hardly Torquay or Woolacombe, but as a one off in a recession year, Cancun might make a nice change ;) )
Last month they worked with environmental artist HA Schult who built the world's first rubbish hotel to promote the preservation of European beaches – literally a hotel built using rubbish collected at beaches across Europe. Have a look at the video for a very sped up version of it being built:
This September the initiative will fully recover one European beach and we're encouraging people to upload images of their endangered beach at www.coronasavethebeach.org. By submitting your beach you're automatically entered into a draw for a trip for two to Cancun.
The campaign has been really well received to date, being featured on the likes of Treehugger, Hippyshopper and Earthpal, with over 60,000 fans on Facebook www.facebook.com/savethebeach
To ensure you're in the draw for Cancun you need to submit your beach by July 21st so there are just under two weeks to go! Find out more about the Corona Save the Beach campaign in this video: |
