Exmoor National Park will be running three one-day training courses for tourism providers.
Now in its 8th year Exmoor Awareness is the ideal opportunity to learn more about the unique qualities of Exmoor National Park and how you can use these to develop your business.

The three Exmoor Awareness courses are as follows:
Recreation: New opportunites, new audiencesWednesday 9th March, 10am - 4pm, at Hunters Inn, Heddon Valley.
Description
For many years Exmoor has offered a range of
recreational opportunities and every year millions of people come to the area to escape their everyday life and take part in a range of activities. In this first session we will look at some of the newer opportunities available for recreation and how these can attract new audiences.Volunteering, accessible walks, countryside mobility, a new Exmoor Challenge TrailBlaze and the new Exmoor Moorland Landscape Partnership will be discussed.
FieldTrip:
Explore the beautiful Heddon Valley on an accessible walk towards the hidden coast with ENPA Access and Recreation Manager Dan Barnett and others.
Social History of Exmoor 23rd March, 10am - 4pm, at Exmoor House, Dulverton.
Description
Discover the influence and life of the Victorians on
Exmoor. ENPA Historical Environment Manager Rob Wilson-North and guest speakers Mary Siraut and Mike Jones will take us on an exploration of theVictorian era considering the lives of farmers and miners and their social conditions.The session will also consider how they influenced the Exmoor that we, and our visitors, love today.
FieldTrip:
Jessica Turner, ENPA Archaeologist will guide us around Exmoor's southern gateway town, Dulverton, considering the conservation area and the influence of the Victorians in the built environment.
Exmoor's farming heritage6th April, 10am - 4pm, at Porlock Village Hall.
Description
Exmoor's landscape has been influenced by man over thousands of years, particularly through farming. Farming provides us with food whilst also managing the landscape and sustaining Exmoor in more ways than we might first think. During this final session we will be considering how farming has developed over the years and the historical legacy this leaves before considering current farming practices and future challenges.
