To many of us, the combination of goats on ropes and gravity might bring to mind a certain story from Radio 1's True Confessions, but don't worry - the goats get out of this one ok!

RSPCA Rescuers abseil to stranded goats

A team of heroic RSPCA officers has rescued two feral goats that were stranded on a cliff face in Berry Head Nature Reserve near Brixham in South Devon (See video from BBC News).

The goats had been thrown supplies of food, but after three weeks rescuers feared they could become dehydrated, or be swept away by waves.

It took four hours, in weather conditions described as 'atrocious', to get the goats safety hauled up the 60ft cliff. The goats were then given medical checks and released, described as 'none the worse for their ordeal'.

Hopefully the RSPCA rescuers got the same treatment?
